Our team consists of me (Jørn Bjørn Augestad), my friend Prash (on the right) who is running a hostel in Pokhara and Om (on the left) who is working as a tour guide half the year and then building schools the rest of the year. in 2018 Om spent two months living in Cambodia to learn how to build schools using plastic bottles and in early 2019 Om and Prash built their first school made out of plastic bottles and in February the same year I was lucky enough to visit the school and learn about how we could build another school made from plastic bottles.
What we will need:
20 000 plastic bottles (which we have already started to collect)
8000€ in material costs (mostly concrete, but also iron for the foundation and a roof)
Volunteers- last time Om and Prash had one hundred volunteers- we aim for more!
Land and government permits, which are almost sorted already.
The new school will be made close to Pokhara in the beginning of 2020, and we aim to have all the material costs and the empty plastic bottles collected before that time. Feel free to send us a message if you want to donate to make this happen, or even better- get in touch if you want to volunteer with us and stay for free!
